Changing scenes of Chennai

On a fine day you step out to go out in Chennai and you just can't fail to notice the transformation happening to the metropolis. The beautification of roads has been strongly pursued by the State government through the Chennai Corporation. For example the ECR road is a prime example how good roads can be laid and maintained all across the country. I just can't forget to mention about the NH45 (madras-dindivanam) which raises the standards of infrastructure in the country.
On the other hand, Chennai has got a new commissioner of police who's known to be a sensible and strict person. His name is Mr. Natarajan. He has instructed all the police officers in Chennai to indulge in fitness and jogging exercises once every month. That's a nice way to burn the calories and more importantly the tummies :). In the post of Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, we have Mr Vishwanathan who is proposing radical changes to the engineering syllabus not only in Tamil Nadu but all across the country. There are so many people who are slowly but steadily revolutionising things. I recently read about a 63 year old person called Sridharan who is an environmentalist living in ECR road. At this age he fights for a cause and maintains a website called goodnewsindia.com. The site talks about silent battles people are waging in India against the state to establish the right and to ensure justice prevails. So all these give you a nice feeling when you know that these are happening in namma singara Chennai.
