Google talk set to revolutionise instant messaging

Here you go - Google the silent tiger has come up with a trump card, its very own instant messenger named Google talk. Voila a huge host of features planned to go with it. The significant one being the interoperability between other leading names like that of msn, yahoo and aol. These leading applications lack interoperability, preventing their users from contacting others users on different messengers and vice versa. This lead to the rise of unified messaging clients like Trillian. Google has to look at increasing its user base so that it can put pressure on other clients to embrace open standards. Google says its networks will be open and users of other Im's would be able to connect to friends on Google talk just by adding their Gmail user names. Earthlink, the Atlanta based ISP recently debuted and IM and voice calling software called and is on its way to make its product interoperable with Google. The Palo Alto giant is slowly but steadily increasing its presence by adopting a strategy similar to that of Microsoft. The geeks and techies in Redmond better watch out.
